1Password is a password manager that goes beyond simple password storage by integrating directly with your web browser to automatically log you into websites, enter credit card information, fill registration forms, and easily generate strong passwords.

All your confidential information, including passwords, identities, and credit cards, is kept in one secure place, protected by the only password you will need to remember.

Are you one of the many having problems keeping track of all your passwords?  What about personal information like checking & saving account numbers?  What about SSN #’s?  I can’t tell you how many people I have met that carry that information on a piece of paper, on in a word document on their computer.

You need 1Password.

A great feature with 1Password is that you can sync all your information using Dropbox.  Now you can access your passwords on all your devices (Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad & Droid).  And it’s encrypted and password protected.

We’ve all heard those buzz words before…Cloud Computing. But what is it and why is it important to you? Are you using Cloud Computing? You probably are, and may not even realize it. In simple terms, cloud computing means storing data and applications (programs) on a server on the web (the cloud). You access this information from your computer, tablet, smartphone or any web browser.

Here are some examples of Cloud Computing:

Email: Use MS Exchange (Hosted Exchange) or Google. Get your own domain. By using your own domain, your email, calendar, contacts, and saved email folders are the same on any device you use. Example: send an email on your smartphone, and that sent email is on your computer in the sent items.

Dropbox: Store, sync and backup your data (files and folders) on all your devices. How does it work? Start working on a Word Document on your work computer. Go home and open that document via Dropbox on your home pc. Finish it. Go back to work, open the document and print it. Your data is stored in the cloud (and it is still on your computer, so, no internet, you can still get to your data).

Online Backup: Do you backup regularly?  Online backups today are the way to go.  My favorite is Carbonite.

Firefox 4 released

On March 24, 2011, in Browsers, by Brett Hatch

Firefox 4 has finally been released.  The new browser is much faster than the old.  Some of the new features are below.

Type your term into the location bar (aka the Awesome Bar) and the autocomplete function will include possible matches from your browsing history, bookmarked sites and open tabs.

The Awesome Bar learns as you use it—over time, it adapts to your preferences and offers better-fitting matches. We’ve tweaked it to give you greater control over the results (including privacy settings) and increased performance so you find what you need even faster.

Too many tabs? Reclaim your browser from tab clutter! Panorama lets you drag and drop your tabs into manageable groups that you can organize, name and arrange in a fun and visual way. To get started with Panorama, simply select the Tab Groups icon when you customize your Navigation Toolbar or right click any tab to Move to Group.

Firefox provides uninterrupted browsing when there is a crash in the Adobe Flash, Apple QuickTime or Microsoft Silverlight plugins. If one of these commonly-used plugins crashes or freezes, it won’t affect the rest of Firefox. Instead, you can simply reload the page to restart the plugin and try again.

With faster start-up times, rapid graphics rendering and improved page load speed, Firefox 4 is full of major performance improvements you’ll notice instantly. From integrating Compartments and more efficiently managing JavaScript objects to supporting ECMAScript5 and building the brand new JägerMonkey JavaScript engine, we’ve been working hard under the hood to make this the most powerful Firefox ever.
